A Post of Gratitude

This post is for the sole/soul purpose of expressing gratitude! I realize I have so many Spirits around me who love and want to help me. Sometimes when depression/anxiety is kicking my ass it can be hard to remember that. But it is all a part of expansion and the learning process as a human. So they must allow me and all humans to experience the contrast as Abraham-Hicks would call it ( aka the bullshit). They also teach that gratitude and being in nature are the fastest most definitive ways to feel better and raise your vibration. Yesterday my dear friend Fairy, one of the most amazingly gifted and accurate readers I've ever known, gave me a message from Lord Ganesha. He is Hindu God who removes obstacles and consort of Lakshmi, who let me know recently she was around me and offering to help me. Then I felt Yemaya, who I have not felt in a few months. This mornings oracle card was confirmation of that. Then I received a wonderful care package from New Orleans with gifts that filled me with love and appreciation. Just after openeing it, I stepped outside and received a message via the guardians of Air from my precious Selene! So I will start off with thanking Gansha! If this blog doesn't prove to me I need a Tumbler account nothing will lol.

An offering of delicious British single cream to Gansesha. I used the King of Pentacles for the Universal Goddess tarot which features his love, Lakshmi as the King and he is the elephants in the background. He removes obstacles so that she can usher in blessings. Quite appropriate during this waning moon. In front is smoky quartz to remove negativity and depression and citrine to balnce my 3rd chakra which is a out happiness, empowerment, self-confidence, joy and prosperity. Thank you beautiful Lady of the Fae for all the help and guidance you've been giving me. Thank you Ganesh and Lakshmi.

This was what I got in the mail! Creole coffee!!!! Omg, there are so many things I absolutely love about the UK. The coffee situation is fucking horrific! This was the Ace of Cups if ever there was one lol! And this crystal is something I shall treasure forever. The amount of healing and love that Joshua put into it is unreal. It actually vibrates and filled my whole body with a feeling of love radiating from it like electricity! It was like... Like a film of darkness and weight and shit just started to evaporate and was pulled off of me! That man's healing abilities are so powerful. I am so grateful for these gifts. The time he made in the midst of a whole lot of chaos and shit he is dealing with, and the criminal amount of money it coat to send 2 bricks of coffee and a crystal - $24.75 US! That is just robbery. I am so grateful to Joshua for sending me these things and that SOMEHOW, we are able to be friends. I am grateful to the precious gift of healing crystals bring. I am more motivated to get my shit together and get on track with my Hibiscus Moon Crystal Healing Course than I have been since I first signed up!

This is the message Selene asked the sylphs to show me. I'm not sure if anyone else can see a dog running happily other than me LOL! But I had a deep sense of knowing it was from her, sans the questioning my left brain often does. I love you and miss you more than words can say. Thank you for coming to let me know you are happy. That is what matters most of all. I am so grateful for every second you shared with me! Every walk at 3AM in the rain to go potty, every time you took up the entire bed, every time you looked at me with eyes of pure love. You were a gift from the angelic realm.

Yesterday I felt the presence of Yemaya, African Orisha who is the embodiment of maternal love. In the tarot she would be the Queen of Cups. She found my apartment I used to have on Bourbon St. It was so tiny, but I loved that place so much. I dedicated my bathroom to her, a common thing since she rules the ocean. This was my alatar to her. Today I drew the card titled Ocean. Isn't this deck beautiful. I'm so grateful for Dr. Steven Farmer who created it and the artists who brought the illustrations to life. He explains it to mean allowing yourself to feel whatever emotions that are coming up and not judge or fight against them, even if they are sucky ones like guilt, anger and grief. I need to learn that we feel our emotions, but we are not our emotions. Thank you Yemaya for the happy times I did spend in this wonderful apartment. And for the next one I know you are preparing for me. Ashé Mamma.

 

 

The first Goddess aside from Mother Mary I ever worked with was the Norse Freyja. I haven't worked with her for several years, but I've felt her around me since I've been in the UK. I do so love her and this may be my favorite depiction of her. It's from a deck I no longer have, Doreen Virtue's Goddess Guidance Oracle. Don't know why I associate miragolds with her, but I do.

 

 

 

Yemaya has two sisters she loves dearly. One is Oshun. In tarot she is the Queen of Wands. Yemaya rules the salt waters, but her sister rules the sweet waters, or the rivers. This was her altar I had in that same apartment on Bourbon. Thank you Oshun for giving me laughter, music and making me feel pretty.

 

 

 

The third sister is Oya and she can be the storm, the tornado, or the rainbow that follows it, but is the winds of change. Think the Ace of Swords. She told me I had to come of the UK and could not go back to New Orleans until October. I've ignore her words in the past. Won't make the mistake again I tell ya! I took these beautiful pictures that represent her several weeks apart. Both were quite timely I'd have to say. Thank you Oya for helping me to find my inner warrior and to learn that change is the breath of life itself. Ashé.

 

 

My beloved mermaid sister, LaSirene, Our Lady Star of the Sea! It had been so long since I'd felt you and you made yourself known to me in several ways whilst I was in Cornwall. The altar was one of the three I had for her on Bourbon St. Lol! She is the Haitian Lwa who helps us with self-actualization and thus self love. I adore LaSirene. Thank you my sister for the 3 shooting stars I saw several weeks ago. And for the 13 Matthew and I saw in one night!!! Especially after showing yourself in that magickal photograph he took of both the aves and the Milky Way! When I have the money, I will surely purchase it as well as the latest shooting star he saw last weekend.

Last for this post, but definitely not least is the practice of yoga. It tends to show up as The Hanged Man in tarot readings. It has helped me tremendously to move through this very deep depression/anxiety, fear and grief over the loss of Selene. The benfits of yoga are seemingly limitless. I am most grateful for the Heike, a girl I used to fly with who was the first person to drag me quite reluctantly I might add, to my first yoga class back in 2001 when I lived in Ft. Lauderdale. Also to my angel of health and recovery of my spine and often my mind, Marjorie DeJoie and for the two instructors who made the biggest impression on me while in Philly at 12th St. Gym, Chick and Stephanie.

These are but a few of the gifts, people, gods, Goddesses, Spirits and elementals I am appreciative of. To all of them I say thank you! And to those of you who read this blog. Though I have no clue who any of you are, I know there are those who do. And it brings me a lot of healing to know my words matter, and that they bring healing at times to you.

Beltane 2012 ~ Stoking the Fires of Passion Part I

Today in the Northern hemisphere we celebrate the sabbat Beltane. It is all about creation, energy, passion and fertility. These things are celebrated in the broad sense, but it is also about primal energies aka hot, passionate sex! It is also a very good time to connect with loved ones who are deceased, second only to Samhain. I have decided to do this as a two-part posting. Part I will be what the Universe wants you all to know in terms of celebrating and learning from this sabbat. Part II will be specific to me. I always wonder how it works to address the masses when do a reading. So I have said a prayer asking that whoever reads this post will get the message from it that is intended specifically for them. 1. How can you best utilize my creative energy? -  Hanged Man Rx - Just Dance by Lady Gaga just popped in my head. Now I don't think it means go out and get blind drunk as she is in the song, (unless you really wanna and have money for a taxi home) but like she says, "Just dance, gonna be okay". You may have been in a bit of a rut or doing a lot of soul searching lately but the energy of the 3 of this cards says things are now ready to come together but you must get moving! Do things that encourage your soul to live out loud. Take up yoga. Pilate's, chi-gong, ballet classes. Anything that gets you outta the house and moving! The snake brings to mind kundalini yoga in particular. Here is what seems to be a very interesting website I just asked the Universe to direct me to for you. And what the hell.... maybe you should go out and tie one one with your friends or beloved! The bottom line is movement of the physical body will activate the creative, spiritual body. A body at rest tends to stay at rest (ask me how I know lmao) a body in motion tends to stay in motion. Get up off your arse and go shake it! Shake like a Polaroid picture!! You know what to do!


2. What do you need to do to stoke the fires of passion in your life? -  King of Pentacles -  This is the king of Earth. He is a Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn. Earth signs are ALL about having their earthly needs met! Think I'm joking? Withhold food or sex from a Capricorn or Taurus! Lemme know how that works out for ya! Food, drink, sex, life's creature comforts make this king feel grounded and secure. Are you secure with these things? I see the huge orange sun behind him. Get out of the house! It has been a really weird winter here in the US, especially up north. I know many people are so sick of winter and being cold they are about to go nuts! If you are in the Southern hemisphere then it's about to start getting cold and the days are getting shorter. So get outside, breath in fresh air, spend time in the sunshine. Even if you are unwell and cannot get out, find a window with some sunshine and sit in it. It will do wonders for your mood and help combat depression.
For many of us, money is an issue, but know that you are worthy of those creature comforts! Maybe it's a fabulous Micheal Kors hand bag. Maybe it is curling up with some brie, a glass of port and the latest copy of Allure or Red magazine. Maybe it's a .99¢ download of that song that makes you smile and sing out load every time you hear it. You can get a gorgeous shade of nail polish for $1.99. Wet-n-Wild makes some nice colors y'all. Whatever it may be, go out and get it for yourself!  A king never wonders, "hmm... should I do this for myself??" Uhh, no! A king KNOWS he deserves the things that act as fuel to keep him and inspired. Thus he has the energy and desire to share that enthusiasm with those around him. I also feel that going out in nature and journaling will help. Do you even remember or know what you are passionate about?? Also, you may want to meet with a financial planner so that you can set goals that may seem lofty or beyond your reach, but with lessons or how to budget, they may be more tangible than you think.


3. How can I ensure that I have a healthy sexual belief system? -  Empress Rx - Wow... I get the feeling that there are a lot of us who are need to address this given that she is Rx. I have a ton of messages coming at me all at once, so here we go:
You were not put on this earth for the exclusive purpose of breeding. If you want children, of course, have them! But do not make that your soul sense of identity! Do it for the right reasons? Have you ever even wondered what those may be? Were you taught that sex is for procreation and not pleasure? Does that ring true for you now? Does your mind tell you one thing but your body and spirit another? Or do you use sex as a weapon, to manipulate another's will? If you have children but are no longer with their other parent, do you use your child as a pawn to manipulate your ex? Do you need to do very difficult but necessary work to heal from the trauma of rape or sexual abuse/incest? Is your biological clock ticking and causing you to see sex as a job that must occur on a set schedule with no passion? Has a miscarriage changed your view of sex and you need to learn how to begin the healing process from that tragedy? Are you having safe sex or do you not think of the possible consequences of your actions and not use protection? Do you have good sex? What does that term mean for you? Can you and your partner or spouse speak openly about what that means? Have you read 50 Shades of Grey and are dying to try things you dare not speak of? Or is insanely hot, freaky, passionate, mind-bending sex keeping you in a relationship who's ending is long overdue? Do you know how to talk to your children about safe sex, or sex at all for that matter? Is there someone with whom they may come in contact that... you can't put your finger on what it is, but something about them just ain't right...? (LISTEN TO YOUR MAMMA RADAR!) Do you know how to ensure that they grow up having a sense of morality and common sense, but not a prudish, frigid disconnect from healthy sexual behavior? Are you homophobic? Why?  If your child were homosexual, transexual, transgendered, or heterosexual, how would you feel about that? Could they talk to you openly about that? If so, do they know that?? If not, do you want to think about that?


4.  How can I shed light on the pleasures life has to give? - 3 of cups Rx - Ok people, y'all really gotta get out the house and shake a leg! Go out! Have fun! I don't care if it is the club 'till 4 am and then the after-hours bar, or a girls night at home! Just for God's sake, let loose people! I just realized this is the 3rd 3 (Hanged Man, Empress now 3ofC). As I think about that KofP, I feel like many of you are so set in your ways you aren't willing to change your routine to allow time for life's pleasures. Ok. Then schedule it in your calender!   Ex. *Note: Wed@18:45 ~ have fun*
 Remember that episode of I Love Lucy were Lucy and Ethel were stomping the grapes? There is something or someone right at your feet that waiting for you to throw caution to the wind and allow yourself to have fun! Maybe go to one of those lingere' parties, or adult toy parties, huh, huh?! Or have a big girl slumber party. Everyone make a dish and bring a bottle of wine, Coke or juice for those who don't drink, and stream movies on Netflix. The Wtiches of Eastwick, The Help, Bridges of Madison County. Or The Hangover. Or Thor  or Takers for some yummy girl eye-candy. Or The Secretary if you're groovin' on 50 Shades of Grey lmfao (and no, I have not read it. I lived it! ahhhh... those were the days... *wistful smile* I need to make new days like those, but I digress..) The rule is bring food/drink, an over-night bag, and all car keys go into a bowl that is kept by your spouse (who needs to make his or her own plans to go out) or by a D.D.

5. How can I strengthen my union with my partner? - Rx 2 of pentacles - Again, I feel like finances are causing the waters of love to be turbulent and wash out the flames of  love and/or passion.  Do you have poverty conscious issues that mirror your partners? Does one bring in more money than the other? If so, are things fairly divied up? I mean if one makes $250K and the other makes $37K, how are things divided? Do you know what fair is in that scenario? Check out Suze Orman who will teach you the formula of what fair means. Or Dave Ramsey who is just as awesome. Most people think the number one reason for divorce is infidelity. It's not. Money is.
The other aspect I see with this card is are you making time for intimacy? Is everyone having their needs met? Sex is not just physical, it is far more mental, emotional, and spiritual. (again with the snake and kundalini energy)  Is there equal give and take? Are you getting back what you are putting in? Are you putting in what you are getting back?
Or do you have two sides? The one who is so nice and sweet to everyone else, but then you talk to your partner like they ain't shit. Lash out with a venomous tongue in a way you'd never speak to your friends or family. Or worse, a total stranger in line at the Winn-Dixie or Primark?.... I'm jus sayin'.

6. What magnificent creation in my life am I not aware of? - Rx Ace of Cups - Love. what's going on with you and love? Are you blocking it from coming into your life and if so, how? Why? Old hurts? Is your partner paying for crimes she/he never even committed? I see that Rx Empress. Do you have issues with your mother (or father) that need to be healed? You may be shocked by how profound an effect that can have on all of your other relationships? Or do you have abandonment issues that need to be healed? Do you not feel worthy of love for some reason? Are you too harsh with yourself, therefore you attract others who are not kind or compassionate? Is there a potential new relationship on the horizon but you are questioning if you are ready for it? I think you just may be if you could see your own beauty and what you have to offer. Not what someone else thinks you don't have, but what you do have to offer. Hey, wait a minute. Do you even know what that is? Why don't you think on that one. If you need a jumpstart, look at the qualities of those around you that make you love them. They are a reflection of you. Or are you not speaking to God/the Goddess right now? He/She loves you no matter what. Period! Spend time near water. I don't care if it is the Atlantic Ocean or your bathtub. Light a candle, spend time near water, ask for your angles or guides to bring healing and know that you are loved. Even if you don't love you, Spirit does. All day, everyday.

7. How can I exhibit more Self love? - 7 of pentacles Rx - Have more patience with yourself for Pete's sake! Stop looking so hard at what's "wrong" with you an start looking for what's "right" with you. Why are you more nurturing and patient with others than yo are with your Self? Take time, make time, to tend to your own needs first. This does not make you selfish!! It makes you smart! What happens when you give your all to everyone around you until you are too fragile to nurture yourself? Even if you are a parent, take some Me time. Check in with your Self and ask how can you take better care of You. Or let those around you know what they can do that will make your job easier. Like RuPaul says, "If you don't love you, how the hell can anybody else?!" Now sashay, away. LOL

Happy Birthday Dr. King

January 15th is the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King as well as Joan of Arc. I would like to pay my respects to two of the most profound and courageous figures in history. I have chosen a couple of cards that I associate with both of them.

Dr. King~ Emperor IV, The Star XVII, King of Pentacles

 Joan of Arc ~ Queen of Pentacles, Emperor IV, 7 of wands

Two incredibly strong human beings who both are Capricorns. This sign is known for unwavering loyalty to any person or cause that they feel is worthy of respect and honor. I chose the Emperor card for both of them because they were such amazing leaders who took care of the masses and wielded a great deal of power and authority. The Star card because of Dr. MLK's unwavering hope for humanity and for peace. The 7ofW because to me this card is all about valor, standing up for what you know is right, sticking to your principles, regardless of how difficult or unpopular.

Reading For the Year 2012

I am doing a spread that my friend Lisa of Tarotize created. It is called the 6 Card New Year's Eve spread. Well I have been battling bronchitis since Christmas Eve, so I am just doing it now. The first thing needed is to figure out your personal tarot card for the year for 2012. Mine is The Lovers VI. She advises that you use that card from one deck and then do the reading with another. That way you can see if that same card comes up again in the reading. (How crazy would that be??) She also says you will get much more out of the reading if you know the planet, astrological sign, and element that correspond with your card. For The Lovers it is the planet Mercury, sign  Gemini, and the element of Air. She says that any cards that have those energies will be emphasized.

Place your Year Card just off to the right so that you can remember that you are viewing this reading through the eyes of that card. I have chosen to use The Lovers from my Tarot of Vampyres. It is absolutely gorgeous.
Lay the cards out to represent a pentagram, as if drawing a star. So bottom left is earth. At the top as if to be the point of the star is spirit. Horizontally across from the first card, (earth) and off to the right of the center card (spirit) is the 3rd card you lay, it represents fire. (think bottom point of the star you are drawing). Diagonally across and between card 1 and card 2 place the 4th card for air. Horizontally across from it place the 5th card for water. (Again, imagine you are drawing a star. If you need a visual, Lisa has one on her post you can see). The final card is placed dead center. She advises using an oracle card to show what your role is in the greater scheme of things. I will use my Shadows & Light Oracle.

1. Earth - Financial and physical outlook for 2012.
2. Spirit - You main spiritual lesson (She says you could also use an oracle card here as well. I will use both)
3. Fire - Shows your creativity, will power and ambition. Where to direct your passion.
4. Air - Problem solving in your head. What is your main communication and problem solving theme.
5. Water - Your main relationship theme and how to nurture your emotional Self.
6. Interface card - How you can best serve humanity.

The very first thing I notice is that all of the cards but are the same element as the elemental position. The earth position has an earth card, air is air, and water is of water. Interesting.

If I am to look at this reading through the eyes of The Lovers, then I am to look at things from the perspective of making choices that will lead me to what my heart truly longs for, what I know in my heart I am passionate about.

1. Earth - King of Pentacles - OMG are you serious!? Could you ask for a better card in this position? Material success and good health! Woo- freakin' hoo! This king looks very content and grounded. I think those are grapes up in the top corners of the card, but to me they look like wisteria, which grows prevalently in New Orleans and is one of the things I love most about springtime here. The money to be made from me reading cards in The Quarter will be pretty slim until springtime or at least late winter when Mardi Gras rolls around, but boy will it roll in then! I also notice an egg at the side of the BunnyRabbit king reminding me to put savings in a nest egg. Earth is the slower of the elements. I need to remember to be patient and persevere, not to give up because this wealth may be slow at first and this reading is the themes for the whole year. So do not get discouraged. (I tend to ya know)

2. Spirit - Nautilus Princess #41 and 2 of swords - My main spiritual lesson is one of powerful personal growth. This card is about entering a transition from Princess to Queen and thus having to make better choices aka time to grow the hell up! I see the nautilus shell as saying that I need to come out from my comfort one if I am to grow and the pearls in her hair showing that I have the wisdom necessary. The companion book says, "A time of spiritual and emotional transformation that could come via a new job, relationship, or life transition, like becoming a parent." ..... OH MY! "It is time to take your self and your potential seriously." The tarot card I pulled is the 2ofSw.This version of the card says I need to not cut of my nose to spite my face (a very Capricorn thing to do lol). Also, just because my earthly eyes cannot see all the answers, I have to learn to truly trust the vision of my third eye, my intuition. Again the theme of making choices based on what will make my heart content.

3. Fire - 8 of coins - Choose to follow my follow my passions, start by learning as much as I can about the things I am passionate about. It looks like she is a witch out in the bayou creating magick in her cauldron. This is telling me to get more involved with my calling to get back on my path as a witch. Also to learn as much as I can in the areas I love. I need to go to RS12 is a very strong feeling I get now. I sure hope that KofP

4. Air - Justice XI - The element of air in the air position. I reminds me of that 2ofSw in Spirit and the main theme of the Year Card, The Lovers; choice, decisions made from a place of integrity and balancing the head with the heart. My fate is not set in stone, I have free will. So I need to really weigh my options in order to make better decisions and thus get better results. And to be fine with the decisions I make and stop stressing!

5. Water - The Chariot VII - Again with this theme of choice. I need to be decisive and focus on what I want NOT what I do not want. Don't get overly emotional because that takes my focus from reaching my goals. Oh yeah, SET SPECIFIC GOALS so I am not just floating aimlessly and at cross purposes with myself.

6. How can I best serve humanity - Fairy of the Highlands #20 - I really do not like conflict and generally try to avoid it. But this card says that there will be some and I must be brave and fight like I mean it when I have to and do not back down. Take back my power and cut ties with those who do not have my best interest at heart.

This was a very cool reading and yielded a lot of good information. I think it would really serve me well to come aback to it periodically to do progress checks with myself.

Going to See the Queen of Wands, the King of Pentacles, and 3 Princess of Pentacles today

LOL!! Well if this isn't crystal clear confirmation! I'm going in a few hours to see my g/f Jacqui and help her for a day while she has lasiks surgery. She is a Sag. She actuaclly has 3 daughters whom  I love and adore, and this cards meaning and the interpretation with Nathalie doing ten things at once is dead on lol! Her husband is a Virgo who drives a really sweet little sports car quite similar to the one on the card. She just told me about an amazing possible new bussisness opportunity for me that could be pretty profitable! I see myself getting off the dark island and going toward the end of that rainbow.
